Public Liability Claims Procedure

Upon the happening of any incident likely to give rise to a claim, the following points must be noted:

  • All reasonable steps should be taken following an accident or loss to protect the person or property from any further injury.
  • Obtain all details from the client of:
    • The incident
    • Name and addresses of third parties
    • Name and addresses of witnesses.
  • In all cases, the client should advise us immediately for advice on how to handle the matter.
  • The client should not give any interview or make any statement to a loss adjuster or other person investigating any accident or damage UNLESS such person is acting on behalf of the client insurer.
  • No correspondence should be entered into with a third party except acknowledgment of receipt of the claim.
  • Forward all letters of demand, writs/summonses to us immediately
  • The client should refer any enquiries (written or verbal) to us
